In 1993, Prof. Halil İnalcık, Professor of Ottoman History, donated his valuable collection to Bilkent University Library and it is now housed in a special room in the Library. The collection includes books, journals and off-prints on the history of Ottoman Empire in many languages (Ottoman and modern Turkish, Persian, Arabic, English, French, Italian and German etc.). The material can be consulted between 08.30-17.00 during the week and users should contact a member of the library staff in advance. To protect the mostly old and valuable items kept in the Halil İnalcık and Special Collections, and thereby to preserve these items for future generations of Bilkent University Library users, some special rules have been designed.
