Biography

Louisa is of New Zealand heritage but was born in India and partially raised in Germany. She studied linguistics through to PhD level at universities in New Zealand, Austria, Australia and Spain and has held lecturing positions at universities in Turkey, Bosnia and Oman. In addition to academia, Louisa has also been a project assistant on a post – war reconstruction project in Bosnia and was a senior analyst for Latin A merica and Europe in the New Zealand government sector. Her recent research has focused on the use of English as a lingua franca, attitudes to accents in English and second language writing.

In her free time Louisa has become an enthusiastic sign hunter, which combines well with her enjoyment of slow – motion jogging.
