Material Request
Bilkent University Library members can suggest adding new materials to the library collection. This service is available only to Bilkent University’s academic and administrative staff and students.
Submitting Requests
- Before requesting materials, the library catalog and subscription databases should be checked to ensure the material is not already available in the library.
- The reason must be specified if requesting multiple copies of the same material or if requesting materials in different formats.
- Material requests can be submitted via the Material Request Form, email, official letter, or through the respective faculty librarian.
Evaluation Process
- Material requests are evaluated according to the library’s collection development policy.
- The evaluation results are communicated to the requestors via their library account or email.
- Journal and database subscriptions are usually processed at the end of the year.
- The final decision on adding materials to the collection is made by the collection development team and/or library management.
