Faculty Librarianship
At Bilkent University, librarians assigned to each faculty are responsible for supporting students’ and faculty members’ educational, instructional, and research activities. These information specialists facilitate communication between the faculty they represent and the library.
Services:
- Information Access: You can request support to access the right sources more quickly and effectively for your research by communicating your information needs to your faculty librarian. Your faculty librarian will assist you in becoming familiar with library resources and enhancing the quality of your research.
- Information Literacy Support: Faculty librarians provide one-on-one assistance and consultation for identifying, using, and developing information and skills related to the information sources needed for educational and research activities. Additionally, they offer professional advice to help you effectively use existing resources.
- Collection Development: Your faculty librarian contributes to adding materials that meet your department’s needs to the library collection. You can suggest new resources to your faculty librarian to support the development of the library’s collection.
- One-on-One User Training: Librarians provide personalized training either in the library or at your faculty, addressing your specific needs. They are also available to answer your questions via phone and email.
- Library-Faculty Communication: Faculty librarians establish a continuous communication network between the library and faculties, collaborating to meet the needs and expectations of both parties.
